Expert therapy

Our therapists help 500 families a year and we provide 250 new families with a charitably funded assessment every year. The Centre’s therapists then develop a personalised programme which could include individual or intensive group therapy.

£1000 funds the cost of our specialist assessment

£5800 funds a child or young person on our year-long, intensive group therapy programme

Our intensive group therapy programmes are designed for children aged 11 to 18 and their parents, at key points in their lives e.g. starting secondary school, entering the workforce or starting university. Many have never met anyone else who stammers or whose child stammers. The social benefit of interacting with peers and to feel part of a community is life changing.

Your donation can fund a child’s therapy and change a life.

From the initial assessment we felt valued, listened to and supported. Our therapist is just so lovely and has really helped my son as well as us as a family to support him.

We met other children who stammered and faced similar challenges. It was life-changing for us. His understanding of his stammer increased, and so did his self-confidence.

Seeing you here has given us our life back. It has given us hope for R’s life with stammering.

I’ve had a massive mind shift from ‘this will hold him back’, to ‘it’s his superpower and could be the real making of him’. I’ve got real hope now.

If I just try and be confident it will work out, more people will know me, and I can do more activities and stuff. You won’t always be stuck in the same circles the whole time; you can have other friends and make friends.
