Get help with stammering
Are you worried about your child and wanting help?
There are different routes to getting help for your child. Contact your local speech and language therapy service, see what speech and language therapy services your child’s school offers, or make a referral to the Michael Palin Centre.
Your local speech and language therapy service
Telephone your local speech and language therapy service (look online for a phone number) and ask to speak with the manager.
Ask the speech therapist at your local health centre.
Find out whether they have a service for children who stammer and how to get referred.
Ask at school
Many schools have a speech and language therapist who visits on a regular basis.
Ask your child’s teacher, the SENCo or the head teacher how to get referred.
Talk to your GP or Health Visitor
GPs and Health Visitors will also be able to give you information about local speech and language therapy services.
Call the Michael Palin Centre helpline on 020 3316 8100
