Private Appointments at the MPC
The Michael Palin Centre has a private route for families (children and young people) and also for adults. If you live overseas you will need to access our assessment clinic and therapy through the private route. If you live in the UK you may wish to choose the private route in order to be seen more quickly for an assessment or if your local CCG/NHS Trust does not approve funding for you to come here for therapy. Private appointments can take place in-person at the MPC or remotely.
Please be aware that if you have a private assessment then any therapy that you decide to continue with will also need to be paid for privately.
Adults
Assessment
- 3 hours with a therapist
- one hour admin and report writing time
- required before therapy can be arranged

Therapy
- therapy payments fees are to be paid 2 weeks before your therapy starts
- therapy is booked in blocks of 5 sessions; 10 sessions; 20 sessions; or 30 sessions. This will be agreed with you at your assessment

Children and young people
Assessment
- 8 hours of therapist time (3 hours with your child and analysing assessments, 4 hours with parents, one hour report-writing)
- payment is required before therapy can be arranged
- there is an additional fee where separate parent sessions are required (parents living apart)
- additional fee for interpreters if required (£25 per hour)

- for international families travelling to the UK for an assessment: please allow time for your child to recover from jet-lag before their appointment.

Therapy
Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy or equivalent
- Therapy will be booked in a block of sessions and this will be agreed with you at your assessment. These will be either:
- Foundation Palin PCI Package (10 sessions)
- Full Palin PCI Package (20 sessions)
- For therapy package fees – please speak to your MPC Therapist or enquire by emailing [email protected]
- Payment is required 2 weeks before starting your therapy.

Palin Stammering Therapy for School-age Children (Palin STSC)
- Therapy will be booked in a block of sessions and this will be agreed with you at your assessment. These will be either:
- Foundation Palin STSC Package (15 sessions)
- Full Palin STSC Package (30 sessions)
- For therapy package fees – please speak to your MPC Therapist or enquire by emailing [email protected]
- Payment is required 2 weeks before starting your therapy.

5-day group for 10-14s and their parents
- day runs from 10am-3.30pm
- includes 4 x follow up days and additional individual sessions if required (face-to-face or online)
- for 5-day group therapy fees – please speak to your MPC Therapist or enquire by emailing [email protected]
- payment is required 2 weeks before starting your therapy.
- next group October 28th – November 1st 2024
Two-week group for 10-14s and their parents
- day runs from 10am-3.30pm, Monday-Friday
- includes 4 x one-day group follow-up meetings and additional individual sessions if required (face-to-face or Skype)
- for our 2-week 10-14 group therapy fees – please speak to your MPC Therapist or enquire by emailing [email protected]
- payment is required 2 weeks before starting your therapy.

- includes a one-day workshop for parents
- day runs from 10am-3.30pm, Monday-Friday
- includes 4x one-day group follow-up meetings and additional individual sessions if required (face-to-face or online)

- payment is required 2 weeks before starting your therapy.

- there is an additional charge of £25 per hour for the use of an interpreter if this is required
- interpreters are arranged by us through Whittington Health NHS Interpreting Services

- we will contact you to arrange an appointment time and send you a contract
- your appointment is confirmed when your contract is returned and payment has been made
- using the payment link sent to you from the admin office
- details will be sent with your contract
