Talk to your GP or contact your local speech and language therapy department. See if they have a service for adults who stammer.
1:1 therapy at the MPC
If you live in Camden or Islington you can refer yourself to the MPC for 1:1 therapy sessions using the referral form here.
If you live elsewhere but you want to attend the MPC privately you can do so. Find out about fees here.
Or you can ask your GP whether they will pay for you to attend the MPC.
Group therapy at the City Lit
The City Lit (Holborn) has group therapy classes for adults who stammer. Go to their website to find out more.
How to get help
- Fill out the self-referral form and submit it. We will contact you to arrange an appointment
- Your assessment and therapy will be funded under an agreement that the Centre has with Camden and Islington Commissioners
- You need to be referred to the Centre by your GP
- Ask your GP whether they would be willing to refer you to the Michael Palin Centre. Your GP will decide whether or not this will be possible. They will need to agree to fund your assessment and also any therapy that you access here
- Fill out the referral form for private clients and submit it. We will contact you to tell you how to make a payment for a private assessment. Find information about costs here
